About Us

Search Engines DailySearch Engines Daily is one of the most recognized and trusted sources for news regarding the search engines, new advertising offerings, search engine research, consumer trends and search engine reports.

As the Internet has evolved, one aspect has remained constant: search engines are how people navigate the web. According to Wikipeida, the first Web search engine was Wandex, developed by Matthew Gray at MIT in 1993, followed by Lycos in 1994.  Thereafter came Excite, Infoseek, Inktomi, Northern Light, AltaVista and the Yahoo! directory.  Today, Google is the most popular search engine worldwide.

Jerry West, Editor
Jerry was born and raised in San Jose, California (right where Google and Yahoo! reside). When he's not strapped to a snowboard or blasting Van Halen on his iPod, he's knee deep in search analysis to help power his affiliate marketing business. With 8 testing servers and over 500 domains, there aren't many SEO Analysts that can keep up with him.  He got his start in search back in 1996 after spending 7 years as a software tester for WordPerfect and Novell. He formed Web Marketing Now in 1999 and has consulted for AT&T, Sun Systems, Monster.com, Tupperware, GE, Psion Techlogix, and dozens of other companies in the Fortune 1000. In 2005, he decided to stop being an "SEO Prostitute", fired all of his clients and devoted his full-time efforts to writing and research.  He now dominates in the affiliate space and is a faculty member of StomperNet and the author of the SEO Revolution, a paid membership site for webmasters and SEOs consisting of tested SEO methodologies.
He currently resides in western North Carolina with his wife and children.
